What our Clients say

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to you both for the 5* care that you have provided for Zeus over the last couple of years, in particular this year as it has allowed us to do some things that we really wanted to before settling down, meaning we have spent more weekends away than we usually would. Any owner will agree that it’s so hard to leave  your pet behind but at the same time you need to be able to enjoy time away and knowing that Zeus is in such great hands makes it that little bit easier to relax, especially for me (mum) as you know I’m a worrier. The fact that you helped me overcome my concerns when Zeus had started to become a little bit territorial at home and worked with me to put my mind at rest really means so much and I can just tell by his reaction whenever he sees you both that he absolutely loves spending time with you! and I needn’t of worried as he will certainly never forget who you are.

The photos and daily messages that we receive on watsap with updates on what he has been doing (including being spoilt rotten with back massages and belly scratches!!) make our day. When we were abroad we started to look forward to seeing what he had been up to when getting ready to go out at night. On top of the daily updates that you send us, the hand written note that you leave us with a an overall summary of his week/fortnight of adventures is great and we love to sit and have a read of when we return home, it’s the first thing we do (after David makes the first cuppa). We were recommended Paw Pals Ashington by a colleague at work and couldn’t thank him enough for pointing us in your direction, you’ve been an absolute godsend and most importantly you listened to us and worked together with our advice on finding the best way to care for Zeus by meeting his needs instead of the other way round which we have sadly found from previous companies.
We would recommend your services to anyone who requires pet care, to have your beloved pet taken care of by someone who genuinely loves what they do and obviously loves animals so much is  an absolute breath of fresh air and we both agree that we don’t know what we would do without you.

Kayleigh, David & Zeus (Boston Terrier)

We recently used Paw Pals at Ashington for the first time, and it definitely won't be the last.

The service provided by Diane and her dedicated team was outstanding.
It really is quite rare to find someone who is genuinely committed and driven to provide such an excellent service. We had only recently adopted "Meg" and we were a little worried about leaving her so soon. From the initial meeting with Diane followed by an introduction to one of her amazing boarders called Pauline, we were completely assured that our dog " Meg" was in safe hands. Whilst we were away, we even received a message from Pauline, with a picture of Meg curled up asleep, reassuring us that she was fine. I would highly recommend Paw Pals to anyone looking for a " home from home" dog boarding service.
Many Thanks to you both.

Neil & Kath Chesterson ( Morpeth ) Meg the Dog.

"Hi Diane sorry a bit late but felt better late than never! To say how I appreciate you looking after Daisy and Minnie. When my son informed me at the beginning of the year that he and his partner were getting married in Cyprus I thought I may not get as I had no idea who could look after dogs while I was away. When a friend at work suggested that you could as she knew you had just set up your own business - we both had worked with you I knew immediately you would be ideal!

Although I was still a little anxious leaving the dogs I was very quickly reassured with photos and texts from yourself! And on my return home Daisy and Minnie seemed so much happier and content than they had ever been when I had left them with my grown up son or daughter. In fact I think they missed you - but at least I know your just on the end of the phone if I need you which recently I did when going to a birthday party that I wanted to stay over night. I can think of no one better to look after my dogs- you are a marvelous woman who has a genuine love for the animals you care for and in return they and their owners love you too. I would and have recommended your service to everyone with dogs. Best wishes for the future too as I know your husband  A very grateful customer!

Avril Elliott, Daisy and Minnie (Bull Terriers)

"I would like to express my complete satisfaction for the wonderful service from Diane Routledge, Paw Pals, Ashington. We can now go away on holiday knowing this lovely genuine pet loving lady will take care of our four precious cats as she has in this last week. She is everything and more than i could hope for, such a warm and tender person who gives us complete peace of mind. Diane is a diamond who puts me at ease and i can't praise her enough".

Glynn Jones - Jack, Basil, Tigger and Bailey (The cats)

"It took me a long time to find someone I trusted to walk my spaniel Millie, and now I do not know what I would do without Diane. She is one of the most caring people I have ever met and puts a great deal of enthusiasm and compassion into everything she does. Millie gets 2 walks a week and I come back to a happy pooch and peace of mind knowing she has been walked and loved in the same way I would do.

We have also used Paw pals to look after our gang of animals while we were away for the weekend, this included bearded dragons, snakes and rabbits. Diane did a brilliant job in providing a high level of care for all our animals and we could enjoy our holiday knowing they were in the safe hands.

I would recommend Paw Pals to anyone; your animals will be in safe caring hands with Diane. Diane has not only become our dog walker but our friend."

Emma Roberts - Millie (spr-ocker spaniel)

"I just want to say what a great service Ashington Paw Pals provide. It was tailored to fit Zeus' needs and gave me peace of mind, while I was away. I came home to a happy, content cat. I would't hesitate to use the service again."

Sara Chapman - Zeus (cat)

"From the instant I met Diane her warmth and passion for animals was so apparent. She was professional and compassionate making sure that she individualized Charlie and Ralphs care and walks to get it just right for them and us. Her friendly flexible approach works extremely well for us as a family and we feel she goes the 'extra mile' in everything she does. She is relaible and excellent value for money and the dogs adore her as do we".

Sara Roberts - Charlie and Ralph (Wheaten terrier and Bedlington terrier)

"I have been using the services of Diane at Paw Pals for some 3 months now and I would highly recommend her to all pet owners. We have 2 cats and 2 parrots together with several fish and Diane has looked after them all extremely well.

I was very impressed with Diane's very professional approach to meeting all the pets for the first time. She treated them as very special and I was very confident that they would be left in safe hands; that to me is so important.

I have no hesitation whatsoever to strongly recommend Diane at Paw Pals to all pet owners. Service of this standard is hard to find."

Paul (parrots & cats)

"Having recently moved and having to deal with my dog Mia having separation anxiety really badly with me working nights, I decided to take the plunge and get a house sitter at night while I worked, after looking at a few I thought that Paw Pals fitted the bill as to what I was looking for, Mia can be very wary of strangers at first but I could tell even after the initial house visit that I had made the right choice, Diane and I had a good chat about Mia's situation and she knew exactly how to deal with it. On the first night Diane arrived and I left for work, the following morning I came back to the happiest little dog I had seen for a while, Mia was obviously very impressed as was I, so came the second night and Mia was there to greet Diane tail wagging as if she had known her for ages, so much so that the following morning she barely acknowledged that Daddy was home!
I now know that should the situation arise again I have a ready made solution in place and the most important thing is it isn't just a person coming to "watch my dog", Diane is now Mia's friend who she is fully settled around and loves her company.  Can't recommend highly enough a fantastic service."

Gary Robertson - Mia (Lhasa Apso)

Many thanks to Diane of Paw Pals, Ashington. Diane has walked and fed our two labradors, Toby and Missy, on a number of occasions while we’ve been away for ‘dog-free’ breaks.

Diane is a real natural and both Toby and Missy bonded with her right from the start. Missy isn’t always the easiest of dogs to deal with and can be quite anti-social at times so it’s really reassuring to know that someone with Diane’s experience and expertise is looking after them. Receiving Diane's update by text on how the walk went also gives us added reassurance, even if it is occasionally a report on doggy misdemeanours.

All in all we couldn’t fault Diane’s service and it’s very reasonably priced too! 10/10!

Keith & Alison McDonald - Toby & Missy (Labradors)

"Dianne has looked after our two precious cats Cara and Biscuit on two occasions now, from her first initial visit I instantly felt comfortable with her as she is a lovely warm and caring lady.

Both the cats have taken very well to her, she gives us twice daily texts when we are away which is very reassuring and a diary of each cats time when we return which is a nice touch.

We are so pleased to have found her, we can enjoy our time away without worrying at all."

Joanne Black - Cara & Biscuit (moggies)

"Bonnie was diagnosed as a diabetic a year ago and has to be injected twice a day with insulin so we had put all thoughts of a holiday out of our minds as no-one in the family wanted to do the injections and we did not want to leave her with strangers in a boarding kennel. Then we heard about Paw Pals. We contacted Diane and she was more than happy to learn how to do the injections and come twice a day to do them. This meant Bonnie could stay with family but then we were confident that her medication was being administered properly.

Diane did an amazing job. Bonnie loves her and we are so happy with the service that we have now booked Paw Pals again to look after her when we go away for a week next month.

I would not hesitate to recommend Paw Pals to look after your furry family members. I'm sure Diane is going to be a regular visiter to our home whilst we enjoy our holidays in the future."

Wendy Gordon - Bonnie (Westie x Cairn)

"Paw Pals Ashington looked after Jessy and Abby for a number of weeks for me. Diane was brilliant with them both, they both took a shine to her. They had 1hr walks everyday at times to suit us. Both my dogs have very high energy levels and Diane met all their needs including Abbys lunch! I was kept fully up to date with any problems, such as Abby having a cough which Diane popped back in on her to reassure me she was ok. Diane gave a brilliant, high standard service and would definately use her services again."

Suzy & Andrew - Jess & Abby (springador & collie x)

"Just a note to say a huge thank you Diane for looking after Bentley,Babs and Judith last week. We enjoyed our holiday having the peace of mind that you were caring for our pets in their own home, a job you carried out extremely professionally with a very personal and loving touch. I will definitely be in touch for your services again and will recommend you to others,(infact I have already!)."

Chris & Barry Johnson - Bentley, Babs & Judith

I stumbled upon Ashington Paw Pals and Diane at a time when I urgently needed some help to look after my bichon frise 'Millie' while I was at work. Diane was extremely helpful and came out to meet us only a few hours after I initially contacted her.

After only two short meetings, Millie was very happy to be around Diane and now looks forward to her visits each week. It is obvious that Diane loves animals. She takes great care of Millie and as another reviewer has said has a "very personal and loving touch".

I really appreciate Diane looking after Millie in such a caring way and don't know what I would have done if I hadn't seen her van in my street just at a time when I needed some help.Diane is already booked up to look after Millie again from September when there will be another addition for her to care for - Poppy our new Puppy.

I have already recommended Diane to other dog owners and will continue to do so. Thank you again!

Karen Scott - Millie (Bischon Frise)

My family have never been far from home on holiday on account, through no fault of their own, our dogs. My German Sheppard and Siberian Husky are a hand full and require an educated hand to care for. Both need medication one of which is an injection of insulin.

So as you can imagine I was rather concerned to leave them under someone’s care but I should never have worried. After a few pre visits to acclimatize our dogs and practise vital medicated food prep and injections I was confident our dogs would be well cared for.

Paw pals run in our area by Diane and Paul are more than competent with the care and need of our dogs. We returned home to a clean home, milk in the fridge and of course two very happy dogs who seem to have had a better time than us!

With out a doubt we will be returning to Diane and Paul again.
