Charlbury Beer Festival – Dog-Friendly Afternoon

This local gem of an event blends live music, craft beer, family activities, and a chilled-out vibe  and they’ve ensured that dogs are welcome too. While not every area is dog-accessible, well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome on the cricket field and surrounding green space during the day.

Perfect for sociable dogs who enjoy people-watching and picnicking with their humans.

The Cotswold Show & Food Festival

About an hour’s drive from most of West Oxfordshire, this long-running event is one of the region’s biggest country shows. Dogs on leads are welcome throughout the site, and there’s even a dog arena featuring:

DogFest at Blenheim Palace

If there’s one event you don’t want to miss this summer, it’s DogFest. Set against the stunning backdrop of Blenheim Palace, this celebration of all things canine offers:

  • The “Big Dog Walk” around the palace grounds
  • Have-a-go agility and dog diving
  • Live music and street food
  • Talks from behaviour and health experts
  • Dozens of dog-friendly shopping stalls

Dogs must be kept on leads, but they’re encouraged to get stuck into the fun and there are plenty of water bowls, cool-down stations, and shady spots where they can rest too.

For those living in or near Enstone, this annual event is a fantastic low-key alternative to larger festivals. The event features a Dog Show as well as a BBQ, Drinks stall, Raffle and Cake stall run by the WI.

While it’s not a wholly dedicated dog event, it’s a brilliant opportunity to get your pet out for the day and participate, meet neighbours, and enjoy the best of summer.

Wychwood Forest Walks (All Season)

📍 Near Charlbury / Enstone
Wychwood Forest is open year-round, but spring and summer are ideal for wildflower meadows, shaded woodland paths, and dog-friendly rambles. It’s not an official event – just a brilliant spot for enrichment and exercise.
